President

I completed my Undergraduate degree with a major in psychology and a specialization in Economics. After completing my undergraduate, I went to the University of British Columbia on a scholarship to complete an accelerated master’s degree at the Sauder School of Business. I completed a master’s degree in Management with a specialization in finance, in 2011.

After starting with Unity Group Financial in 2015 I began working towards industry expertise such as the following:

Chartered Life Underwriter CLU was completed in 2018. CLU specialize in life insurance, advanced tax and estate planning. You must complete 5 core courses with 3 elective courses, in addition to having 4 years of wealth transfer and estate planning experience. CFP’s will often try and earn their CLU designations as they complement each other well. CLU is one of the oldest and most respect financial credentials in financial services, dating back to the 1920s. CLU embodies a broad array of personal risk management and life insurance planning issues while stressing ethics. Maintaining the designation requires 30 hours of continuing education every year.

Certified financial Planner: CFP was completed in 2017. CFP is an extensive education that has rigorous requirements. You must complete 6 separate courses consecutively along with a level 1 exam and a final 8-hour exam. You must have a bachelor’s degree and requires 6000 hours a financial planning experience. CFP’s are highly regarded for their ability to provide clients with comprehensive financial planning services.

Certified Health insurance Specialist: CHS is the only health-insurance designation in Canada. CHS provides all the knowledge and expertise of this niche area, including income replacement, disability, critical illness, long-term care and group benefits.

Certified executer advisor: CEA designation is the only executer focused credential in Canada. CEA focus’ on educating executers on the enormous moral and legal responsibility they will have to undertake.

Chartered Financial Analyst CFA. I am currently working towards my charter. The CFA charter is one of the most respected designations in finance and is widely considered to be the gold standard in the field of investment analysis. To become a CFA charter holder, you have to pass 3 rigorous 6-hour exams over several years. The three exams are split into levels 1, 2, 3, with each being written once a year. It takes on average 4 years to complete all 3 levels as the pass rates of all three float around or below 50%. Only 9% of candidates have consecutively passed all three levels. The program covers a broad range of topics such as investment management, financial and quantitative analysis, equities, fixed income, and derivatives. I am currently working towards my level 3.
